Hydrogen mobility becomes even more ecofriendly
Fast refueling of FCEVs now also using purely natural refrigerants

As the world's only supplier of cooling systems for hydrogen refueling stations using purely natural refrigerants, the Freundorf-based company KUSTEC developed a system for the rapid refueling of fuel cell cars in 2020. In order to be able to refuel larger vehicles such as ships, trains, trucks and buses with hydrogen quickly and directly one after the other, the global market leader in cooling systems for hydrogen refueling stations has now developed two even more powerful cooling systems with up to three times the cooling capacity. The company celebrated their premiere on September 27 and 28 at Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2023 in Bremen.
For a low-carbon hydrogen future
Hydrogen Technology Conference & Expo Europe is the world's largest conference and exhibition dedicated exclusively to advanced technologies for the hydrogen and fuel cell industry. It brings together representatives from the entire hydrogen value chain. This year, the show was themed "Technologies & Solutions for a Low-Carbon Hydrogen Future."
Pioneer in natural refrigerants
KUSTEC shows that innovation is the key to developing sustainable and future-oriented solutions and has already received numerous awards for its innovative technologies. The company has been a pioneer in the use of natural refrigerants for many years. In contrast to synthetic refrigerants, these have a significantly lower global warming potential and thus contribute to a reduction in CO2 emissions.
"We are proud to contribute to clean mobility and sustainable energy supply worldwide through our innovative cooling solutions," said Martin Schreiblehner, CEO of KUSTEC. "From ships to trains to trucks and buses, they can all be quickly refueled with hydrogen thanks to our new systems using natural refrigerants."
